By Marialiberati

MariaLiberati_label-page-0 (2)This weekend  My Tuscan Secret Pizza Sauce will be making its’ debut at my booth at the Lancaster Food and Spirits Show at the Lancaster Conventon Center in Lancaster, PA. Come and sample my Tuscan style cornbread with the pizza sauce or Pita pizzas with Kangaroo pita bread.

The sauce is made with prized San Marzano tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil and My Tuscan Secret Spice Blend..doesn’t get better than that..it makes 2 pizzas..all you need is a pizza crust and any toppings you choose to have a Tuscan flavored dish.

Here is one of my favorite recipes for pizza crust

2 1/2 cups flour

1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

1 cup warm  water

1 tblsp sugar

2 1/4 tsps active dry yeast

pinch of salt

In a glass add water and sugar to yeast, stir til dissolved. Place flour in bowl and pour in yeast mixture, blend with hands till smooth dough is formed. Drizzle olive oil

on pizza pan and spread evenly on pan. Stretch out dough and cover and place in oven and let rise (do not turn oven on) for about 3 hours. When risen, remove from oven, preheat oven to 425 degrees. Pour 1/2 jar of My Tuscan Secret Pizza Sauce and top with your favorite toppings- mozzarella , veggies, meat or soy substitutes are great but you can also experiment with other cheeses. Bake for 15 minutes in preheated oven.

I will be onstage on Sunday at 2:30 doing a polenta pizza..stop by for a taste!! For tickets to the Lancaster Food and Spirits SHow at Lancaster Convention Center go to http://lancaster.gourmetshows.com/
