A Piper Saratoga accelerates for a takeoff from San Carlos airport.  First flown in 1974, the Saratoga is a six-seat aircraft that started as a retractable-gear version of the Piper Cherokee Six originally named the Piper Lance.  Production of the Saratoga II HP ended in 2008, production of all PA-32 models ended in 2009. Long out of production, these aircraft continue to be popular for those wanting a long-range six-seater.
