Piper PA-28-236 Dakota

@ San Carlos, CA

October 2023

A Piper Dakota accelerates for takeoff from San Carlos Airport. Certified in 1978, the Dakota was a follow-on model to the Cherokee and intended to compete with the Cessna Skylane. The Piper product climbs better, offers a bit more payload, has a higher service ceiling and better visibility in the pattern. This all-metal, low-wing design, was a major change from the fabric-and-tube PA-22 Tri-Pacer it replaced. This design was been a strong seller for Piper.
