On a recent trip to Fairbanks, we went on a riverboat cruise on the Chena River which included a demonstration of a typical Alaskan floatplane. This Super Cub demonstrated a river takeoff and landing, complete with narration from the pilot. Alaska has approximately 700 airfields, including 121 seaplane bases. In close to 40 years of production, over 9,000 Super Cubs were built since 1949. Nikon D500 w/18-200mm.
