First flown in 1938, the Piper Cub is one of the most recognizable icons of aviation.  Based on the original Taylor Aircraft Cub, almost 20,000 of these classic aircraft were produced.  Cubs saw combat duty as the L-4 Grasshopper, the most famous one being Rosie the Rocketer, equipped with six underwing bazooka rocket launchers and credited with eliminating six enemy tanks and several armored cars.  This J3C-65 variant of the Cub came out in 1940 and is equipped with a Franklin 65 hp engine. Nikon D500 w/Tamron 150-600mm.
