Following shows with Franz Ferdinand, Garbage and The Breeders, Pip Blom has shared the video for new single ‘Ruby’ ahead of the release of debut album ‘Boat’ on 31 May (Heavenly Recordings – pre-order here).
Already a firm favorite on 6Music, ‘Ruby’ has the spirit of Kim Deal rushing through it with a killer bass line opening the song and fuzzy Deerhoof-meets-Tilly and the Wall-style hooks. The eccentric stop-start nature of the track will prick your ears as Pip candidly admits: ‘I don’t know what I’m doing all the time’.
