The most accessible glaciers in kumaon region, Pindari is located at 3820m in Patti Malla Danpur of Bageshwar district. The pindari glacier is 3 Km long and 0.25 km broad and is connected to the southwestern slope of the outer wall of the Nanda Devi Sanctuary. The main peaks near the glacier are Nandakot (6880m), Nandakhat (6611m), Pawalidwar (6663m), Baljuri (5922m) and changuch (6322m). The Kafni glacier lies towards the left of pindari valley below Nandakot. The tranquility prevailing in this region has a special charm. This region is very rich in wildlife. There is no rest house beyond dwali and one has to spend nights in tents or caves. The main peaks near the glacier are Nandakot (6860m) and Nand Bhanar (6104m). The route to Pindari and Kafni glacier is common up to Dwali.

  • 1st Day : Delhi Almora (night halt).
  • 2nd Day : Almora – Loharkhet (night halt).
  • 3rd Day : Loharkhet – Dhakuri (night halt) .13 km trek .
  • 4th Day : Dhakuri – Dwali (night halt) .16 km trek .
  • 5th Day : Dwali – Kafni/Pindari – Dwali (night halt) .21/22 km trek.
  • 6th Day : Dwali Dhakuri (night halt) .20km trek.
  • 7th Day : Dhakuri – Loharkhet – Kausani (night halt) .10km trek to loharkhet.
  • 8th Day : Kausani – Almora – evening departure to Delhi.
  • 9th Day : Arrival at Delhi.
