This photo of a Surf Air PC-12 departing San Carlos for its flight down to Burbank was named the Second Place winner of the 2013 Aviation Week & Space Technology Photo Contest, one of the most highly regarded contests for aviation photography. This was my second year of participation, with two Honorable Mentions last year. The Pilatus PC-12 is a single-engine turboprop passenger and cargo aircraft manufactured by Pilatus Aircraft of Switzerland.
