Verdict on Piggy
Piggy is a horror thriller that puts a bullied teenager in the center of a mystery about a series of missing person cases. It shows how Sara sees what is going on and chooses to ignore it in revenge for the constant bullying she is put through.
Laura Galan is brilliant as the bullied teen, trying to build the walls around her character’s bullied figure. It shows how this can change mindsets forever. The story plays into the idea that bullying can face consequences when someone challenges you. The slasher nature of the killer helps keep everything on edge throughout the film too.
Piggy gets plenty of praise for giving us an alternative-looking final girl. One that has been through a lot, like the typical one. It also doesn’t hold back on any of the blood we see split during the chaos.
The film will release in cinemas in October 2022.
Final Thoughts – Piggy is a blood-splattered horror journey.
