The Southeast is all abuzz this morning with the announcement that Piggly Wiggly is changing its name to Lucky Ducky. This bulletin was spotted in Mount Pleasant, SC, earlier this morning.
From the press release:
“This name change demonstrates how lucky we feel to have such wonderful, loyal customers,” said Lucky Ducky President and CEO David Schools, who formerly held both titles at Piggly Wiggly Carolina Co. “Several months of brand research showed a great deal of customer appreciation for our stores’ emphasis on being a part of our local communities more than any other area supermarkets and we want to give those loyal guests even more reason to take pride in their preferred grocery store. Only in South Carolina and coastal Georgia will guests be able to shop Lucky Ducky.”
