By Rashmi Gopal Rao

Often counted among one of the best cities to live, the capital of Denmark, Copenhagen offers an eclectic array of sights for the discerning traveler. From castles and museums to street art and a bustling gastronomic scene, there is plenty to see and do while in the Nordic capital.

Copenhagen’s vibrant waterfront

And one sight not to be missed while here is exploring the city’s vibrant waterfront. Copenhagen is a harbor city replete with charming canals just like Amsterdam. It is key to note that the lively waters are a great way to soak in the city’s vibe. One of the best ways to take a tour of these canals is by hopping on a traditional boat tour or cruise which gives you some of the best views of the city and its main landmarks. Here are some captures from my canal tour of Copenhagen.

There are several boat tours you can choose from in Copenhagen and most of them offer an engaging commentary in both English and Danish. This gives you a good idea about the city’s history, culture and main landmarks. The best part is that most boats are environmentally friendly so it is a sustainable way to tour the waters.

The tour is also a good way to view the city’s bridges, some of which are true works of art.

All in all, a boat tour is a great way to experience some the city’s most beautiful sights.
