“Photoart 6: Palm Frond Weaver” / Kiunga, Western Province, Papua New Guinea / June 2013

Palm fronds are regularly used as roofing material in many countries in Asia and the Pacific.  During our visit to one of the villages near Kiunga, I found this lady weaving palm fronds as a source of livelihood.  She didn’t mind my taking photos of her and even smiled for the camera as she continued with her weaving.
