“Photoart 2: Siblings by the Balcony” / Kiunga, Western Province, Papua New Guinea / June 2013
June 2013: I was a conspicuous stranger in a village that seldom gets visited by foreigners and so these boys were curious but also wary about making further contact other than observing my moves from the high balcony of their house on stilts. The walls and balusters of their house, made of the outer layer of a palm tree similar to the areca nut, provides exciting patterns and textures around them.
