Photo of the Week: A Perforated Award Winner

By Dwell @dwell

At this year's AIA LA Design Awards, AIA's Los Angeles chapter granted one of the Honor Awards to Studio Pali Fekete architects, who designed the Morgan Phoa Residence/Library in Los Feliz. The Culver City-based firm renovated the interior of the house that was first designed in the 1920s by Wallace Neff, as well adding a library. The two-story structure's facade is enveloped with a metal screen that's perforated into a pattern that recalls the precast concrete window grills that existed on the original building.
