Photinia beauverdiana var. notabilis, commonly known as the Christmas Berry, is a deciduous tree with a rounded crown. The species, Photinia beauverdiana, is native to west China. In its native habitat it grows in woodlands and woodland edges. Its mid green leaves are elliptic, appear copper/ red in spring and become red in autumn before they fall in autumn. Its large white flowers en mass. These are followed by orange to red fruit. Photinia beauverdiana var. notabilis may be used as a small tree that provides interest from spring until autumn.
