Darrell Miller, former mayor of Capitol Heights 2006-2010, admitted in Anne Arundel County Circuit Court that he spent $1000 intended for his District 7 County Council seat campaign on personal expenses. He was sentenced to 2 years of supervised probation, 300 hours of community service, and $2000 in fines.

Bowie’s Mayor Robinson is concerned that with the new redistricting plan could cause a loss of a state delegate, thereby reducing it’s influence with the state legislature. Currently there are 2 delegates for Bowie. New redistricting boundaries would leave them with just the one and double the size of District 23b while cutting the size of District 23a in half.
