Pets will be able to vote in the 2016 Presidential election

Pet owners who treat their pets like people can now allow their furry family members to take part in another human activity: vote. That’s right, pet parents in the United States can now log on toPetsVoteToo.comand register their pet to vote for the 2016 President. PetsVoteToo- based out of Austin, TX- was created “to engage, amuse and inform politically-minded pet owners, and in so doing support the fund-raising efforts of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals,” according to their Feb. 16press release.

The website launched Feb. 16 and is now open to all pets. Pets will be able to cast their vote in the State Primary, Caucus and the general election via the website. Although their votes will not count in the real elections this voting system could very become “the largest pre-election poll ever conducted.”

PetsVoteToo.com offers access to election news and in-depth information about the parties and candidates running. Users of the website can also participate in polls and post opinions in the forum. 

Registered pets will be contacted when the virtual polls open and election results will be posted in real-time. All types of pets can register so expect to see birds, reptiles, hamsters, dogs and cats casting their ballots this year.
