Story: Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway starts when Bea (Byrne) and Thomas McGregor (Gleeson) get married. Bea has seen her books published by Nigel Basil-Jones (Oyelowo) who has ideas for the characters. Peter and the other rabbits are not overly interested in changing, leading Peter to explore the big city.
He meets Barnabas a streetwise rabbit who has been collecting food around the city. Barnabas knew Peter’s father and comes up with an idea for a big heist, using Peter and his friends to succeed.
Verdict on Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway
Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway is a sequel to the family adventure movie. It sees Peter returning with his friends, this time finding himself in the big city. He must put aside his rivalry with Mr McGregor to find his place in the world.
This is a movie that manages to reflect what is wanted in the books being written and what adventures the characters go on. While a lot of the comedy can get annoying, the bigger message in the movie comes off strong. We get to see a host of different characters from Beatrix Potter’s books that have their own colourful personalities.
Final Thoughts – Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway is a fun sequel even if the comedy holds it back in places.
