Taking residence at what was once an old pub, Peter and That's Enough was the latest hotspot on the Loughborough map and I couldn't wait to check it out! After a hard week the boy and I decided to head over to Peter for some pizza and see what all the social media frenzy was about...
The design and layout of the place is the first thing that caught my eye, I can't even really put into words how quirky it is but there is lot to keep you interested. Exposed brick, classical movie art, diverse pieces such as concrete chairs, then a combination of modern and rustic pieces... the look really goes to town which sets it apart from anything else. There are group tables then ones for those after a quiet bite to eat meaning it truly caters for every social situation.
When we looked at the menu I felt a bit spoilt for choice with anything Italian getting a big fat tick from me, but what Iwas interested to know was would it be a traditional italian or not...
We started off with some little nibbles which is perfect if you're going to be eating a carb dominating meal, however there are plenty of starters on the menu to sink your teeth into.
After scanning the menu numerous times in order to make a final decision, I opted for a sourdough pizza with cured chorizo, gorgonzola and mozzarella (who could resist). When the pizza arrived it was exactly how I remembered them in italy, so it certainly looked the part but did it taste as good?
My other half went for tomato, chopped & sliced black truffle, spinach leaves and parmesan shavings pizza. After tasting them both (it'd be rude not to) I can honestly say I haven't had pizza like that in a long time and with prices ranging from £5.00-£7.50, it's a treat that doesn't break the bank.
Delicious pizza and smooth red wine were the perfect partners in crime for the Peter exeperience.
Chocolate and Pistachio Semi-Freddo = Heaven in a jar
If you're wondering what a semi-freddo is... well it's a classic Italian desert which is simply divine, however this one was a cheeky blend of beautiful chocolate and pistachios.
Flavour, texture and tastebud heaven are the three key things that spring to mind when I think about my visit to Peter. If you're looking for simple, tasty, well-made pizzas and italian inspired food then you must visit Peter... It's not just Pizza it's so much more...
