Percentage of Corsi-events-AGAINST Resulting in a scoring-chance-AGAINST; Relative to a Replacement

By Kicks @Chrisboucher73
LOWER IS BETTER!
This post will focus on the percentage of even-strength "CORSI-against" events that resulted in a scoring-chance. It will compare each player's result with the result produced by an average player playing the same position. The higher the percentage above replacement the higher the percentage of the shots-against that occurred while that player was on the ice were scoring-chances. A player is credited with a scoring-chance against when he is directly involved in the play that produced the scoring-chance. The calculation is done by taking the number of scoring-chances each player was responsible for and dividing it by the number of corsi-against events that occurred while the player was on the ice.
These numbers take corsi-events and use them to tell a more indicative story about players' defensive-play.
A list of all the metrics I track can be found here
The calculate a player's efficiency relative to a replacement, we simply subtract the average value for a player who played the same position from that player's own value.
Only even-strength events were used in this calculation.
