Here is an intriguing track from Brooklyn’s People Get Ready. “Rainbow”, from the bands upcoming new album Physiques, dodges easy pigeonholing, but its restless and hip-shaking South American spirit certainly sounds like the spot where bossanova meets rock. During the tracks three short minutes, the band delivers a wealth of changing melodies and gear shift that instantly grabs hold and fascinates. But perhaps more than anything, “Rainbow” reveals stunning swirling guitar work that sounds improvisational and precise all at once. Look for Physiques on June 24 via Brassland.
