The video surveillance specialist Hikvision is also on this list included in a letter to American parliamentarians dated Wednesday, according to the Bloomberg agency.

“As the People's Republic of China tries to blur the lines between the civilian and military sectors,” knowing your supplier “becomes crucial,” said a statement from Pentagon spokesman Jonathan Rath Hoffman.

According to him, the list includes companies “which belong to or are controlled by the Chinese government, the army or the defense industry”.

“We see this list as a useful tool for the US government, investors, research institutions and all similar partners to adopt vigilance for agreements with these entities,” he added.

Tensions are growing in the wake of the COVID pandemic – 19 between Beijing and Washington on multiple fronts, including trade. US President Donald Trump reiterated this month his threats to suspend all relations, including economic relations, with Beijing.

Before the pandemic, the first two economic powers in the world had managed to make a truce in their trade war with reciprocal punitive customs duties.

In mid-June, Washington slightly softened the last sanctions taken the previous month against Huawei to protect its own interests in the deployment of technologies related to 5G.

The Trump administration perceives Huawei as a threat to American national security, accusing it of collusion with the Chinese authorities, something the group categorically denies.

The United States suspects the spying enterprise for the benefit of Beijing and spares itself without counting on its allies to prevent Huawei from entering the 5G market.

Huawei did not react immediately to the publication of this list, like the other cited companies including Hikvision.
