Food
Now what about the food? I love Greek food, it’s comforting, tasty and you certainly won’t leave hungry. I have no idea if anywhere I’ve eaten in is authentic, I lived on pizza on my trips to Greece on holiday as it was all I could decipher from the menu! (That and Gyros and chips mmm!)

A tasty looking menu.
First up some warmed pitta and dips – tsatziki, humour, red pepper hummus and taramasalata to name some. All very dippable.

Lamb dolmadas (stuffed vine leaves) and Lamb keftedes (meatballs) both faves in the foodie household. Moist, tender and scrummy – we’ll be munching some more of these.

The chicken skewers smelled of holidays, charcoal grilled with onion and lemon – yum!

Of course some Halloumi! If you haven’t tried this squeaky cheese – get some! It’s perfect fried or grilled and here it was served on some salad. Mr Foodie is a big lover of Halloumi and makes a mean Halloumi piece, get him to make you one. Thumbs up from Mr Halloumi.

Moussaka. Mrs Foodie loves a Pastichio – which is like Moussaka only with macaroni (there’s that mac n cheese love again!) We think this is because of fatty mince in previous Moussaka and poor bechamel sauce. None of that here – creamy sauce, and good thick layers.

For an opening night the staff and food came up very well. They sell a small selection of Greek beers (Fix, Mythos and 1 on rotation) and some Hellenic cocktails too, such as “Zeus”, a classic sour with ouzo, Disaronno, lemon juice, egg white & sugar syrup. We’ll be back in a few weeks to see how the food & drink fares and let you know!
