You've never tasted a waffle like these pearl sugar waffles. Bursts of little sugar pearls that simply elevate the simple waffle. Your family will love!

Best Breakfasts

Best breakfasts, I think, always have some kind of pancake or waffle with the the plate. Who doesn't love a breakfast with a steam egg on top the waffle. Or having your waffle or pancake for a dessert after you've eaten your scrambled eggs and bacon or salmon and cream cheese!

Belgian Waffles

Belgian waffles are typically big and fat, much more so than a regular waffle. Belgian waffles are like regular waffles but much thicker. The waffle iron they're made in has deeper grids. Also, you'll make your batter slightly different than regular waffle batter. You want your Belgian waffles fluffier, so you'll be using a leavening agent or egg whites to create the lighter airy type of end result.

Liege Waffles

You probably have heard of Belgian waffles. But, maybe you haven't heard of liege waffles. They're almost the same technically. The liege waffles hail from the city of Liege in the Wallonia area of Belgium. Made from a dough similar to brioche, oh, doesn't that sound amazing, it's simply divine.

Pearl sugar waffles. Oh, what a new treat for your palate. Of course, we love waffles. And, the goddess of waffles is the Leige waffle or the Belgian Waffle. The only problem is that they take more time to make that regular waffles. And, sometimes we're just not willing to devote that time. So, what's a good alternative? My recipe for pearl sugar waffles! But, first what's pearl sugar?

Where to buy Pearl Sugar

Sometimes referred to as 'sugar nibs', these tasty nuggets can be used in so many different recipes. It's worth the investment of having some in your pantry.

I order my pearl sugar from Amazon! I've got two options for pearl sugar in my 'Pantry Items', so please, take a look. Also, the things in this Pantry category are lots of what I have in my actual pantry.

Pearl sugar waffles have in them bites of joy! The pearl sugars are tiny 'pearls' of crunchy sweet happiness. When the batter bakes in the waffle iron, there is some dissolving, but there remains hidden bursts of crispy crunch and visible evidence of caramelized sugar on the waffles. Much different than a waffle sweetened with regular refined sugar.

Coconut Milk Recipes

Coconut milk recipes can be interchangably with using other types of milk like buttermilk. And, coconut milk has a lot of health benefits that might not be in other milks.

This recipe is easy and quick. And, honestly, you do get a flair for the more sophisticated Leige Waffle when you bite into it.

Think about these pearl sugar waffles as a dessert, too. I mean there are so many ways to dress them up and serve. Grilled peaches on top. A scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. Fresh berries. A drizzle of chocolate ganache. A dollop of all-fruit jam. Or something really easy like chopping up your favorite candy bar(s), sprinkling on top then popping into the oven for a few seconds just to get a melt going on!
