A police constable attached to the Malabe Police Station was arrested on Saturday by the Embilipitiya Police Station for threatening his police girlfriend.
This police constable has been having an affair with a female constable working in Embilipitiya Police.
That love affair was stopped a week ago by his girlfriend, who works at the Embilipitiya Police station. The police officer, who was angered by his girlfriend’s act, had called her on the phone and threatened to kill her and several members of the Embilipitiya police station. On Saturday he had come to his girlfriend’s Embilipitiya police quarters and had threatened her. However, a police constable present on the occasion had arrested him.
A disciplinary inquiry has been initiated against him.
