Paws have announced details of their fourth album ‘Your Church on my Bonfire’ (out 26 April via Ernest Jenning Record Co) and shared the video for lead single ‘Not Enough’. Following tours with Death Cab for Cutie, The Cribs and Japanese Breakfast, the record has been produced by Frightened Rabbit’s Andy Monaghan and is their first release in three years.
Chronicling the breakdown of a relationship, ‘Not Enough’ finds Phillip Taylor (who also directed the video) lamenting his loss and looking over the hardest moments with refreshing honesty: ‘It is cold when we should be warm. You said that love’s not enough and then you were gone’; ‘We can’t fix what nobody wants’. With potent melodies and an anthemic quality, there’s an openness as Phillip decides to wish their former loved one well – albeit with a final request: ‘But will you think of me in whatever life you try and find. I know at least that you’ll have peace of mind’.
