The movie, which is based on Marie Bostwick’s The Second Sister novel, is about a lawyer forced to return to her small hometown when her sister with special needs passes away. Upon arriving, she’s frustrated to learn she must stay for at least 30 days to inherit the family home, but is encouraged to make the most of the holiday season when the community, who loved her sister, rallies around her.
