DPRK state media reported that more than 3,000 delegates and observers to the 7th Party Congress arrived in Pyongyang on May 2 (Monday).

An art exhibition celebrating the convocation of the 7th Party Congress opened at the Korean Art Gallery on May 2 (Monday).  Attending the exhibition were Choe T’ae Bok (Workers’ Party of Korea [WPK] Secretary and Chairman of the Supreme People’s Assembly), Minister of Culture Pak Chun Nam Ministry of Culture officials, DPRK artists and Pyongyangites.  Pak Chun Nam delivered a speech opening the exhibition.  According to KCNA the exhibition includes “art pieces depicting the undying exploits performed by President Kim Il Sung (Kim Il-so’ng) and leader Kim Jong Il (Kim Cho’ng-il)” and reflects “the struggle of the Korean people who have created miracles and feats for making the party congresses be recorded in the history of the Workers’ Party of Korea [WPK] as glorious ones of victors.”  The exhibition has art “reflecting the joy of the people who greeted the leaping Mallima era, the era of prosperity under the leader of Marshal Kim Jong Un (Kim Cho’ng-u’n)” and “show the intention of the Korean service personnel and people to walk along the road of loyalty all the time under the WPK and accomplish the final victory of the revolutionary cause of Chuch’e.”

A photo exhibition celebrating the convocation of the 7th Party Congress opened at the People’s Palace of Culture in central Pyongyang April 28 (Thursday).  The theme of the photo exhibition is “The Ever-Victorious Workers’ Party of Korea [WPK] and the opening was attended by Yang Hyong Sop (Vice President of the Supreme People’s Assembly Presidium), Pak Chun Nam (Minister of Culture), section chiefs of the WPK Propaganda and Agitation Department [PAD], officials of the DPRK Government and national institutions and Pyongyangites.

According to KCNA, displayed at the exhibition are 70 photographs documenting the activities of Kim Il Sung (Kim Il-so’ng), Kim Jong Il (Kim Cho’ng-il) and Kim Jong Un (Kim Cho’ng-u’n), along with 150 photos “showing the revolutionary spirit of the army and people of the DPRK all in the charge to bring about world-startling miracles and feats in the annals of revolution and bring earlier the final victory of the cause of the Chuch’e revolution under the wise guidance of the peerlessly great persons of Mt. Paetu.”  Pak Chun Nam delivered an opening speech after which attendees looked at the exhibition.
