Following the untamed, fire-eating ”Sunbathing Animal”, charismatic Brooklyn band Parquet Courts premiered a new song on Late Night With Seth Meyers showing what we’ve already suspected; that the title track was far from representative of their upcoming sophomore album. “Black And White”, on where Andrew Savage sings about the monochrome boredom of everyday life, still anchors the bands merciless uncompromising version of rock ‘n roll. And while it still shoulders a couple of chaotic, mayhem toting riffs, it’s the swinging, annular krautrock-tinted rhythms that unmask “Black And White” as one of Parquet Courts most swinging songs yet.
