Apologies… I couldn’t think of a better title! Last month, Mr. S had his holiday party at Gilley’s in Dallas. Random fact: Remember the movie Urban Cowboy from the 80s? It was set at the original Gilley’s in Pasadena, Texas.
I was told the dress was cowboy casual, but I didn’t want to wear the usual cowboy boots and dress. Why not give it a Parisian twist?! And who does urban cowboy better than Isabel Marant?! Dress + Boots + Tux jacket = cowboy chic, no?! The TEXAN necklace was the perfect finishing touch to my Parisian cowboy ensemble. The cutest gift boutique in Fort Worth, Prim and Proper, had the necklaces special ordered from Brevity Jewelry.
The last pic was an outtake. It was really chilly on that day so I brought my furry jacket thrifted from Paris. Mr. S thought it should be part of the post so here it is!
So what do you think? Oui or Non for parisian cowboy?!
BTW, I scored the Isabel Marant pour H&M tuxedo jacket on ebay. It’s very well constructed – the body is wool with cotton/silk accents on the lapel and pockets. It’s definitely a great staple piece if you can find one at a reasonable price. It fits TTS – a little large. I have a size 4 which fits perfectly (but sometimes size 4 are tight in the shoulders for me).
