Our final full day in Paris was definitely the hottest, not that you'd catch me complaining! Just look at that bright blue sky!
Sacré-Cœur was one of the places on my to-see list and I knew it was gonna be something special. There's a lot of steps though and I mean a lot, so pace yourself! We went there mid-morning and it was already getting really busy. If anything, I'd have liked to spend more time looking around that area and seeing the arty parts of Montmartre, but we can do that another time!
No trip to Paris is complete without crepes and macaroons and let me tell you, we definitely had plenty of both! This crepe I had wasn't as good as the one on Bastille Day watching the fireworks, but it was still pretty good!One of the shops just down from Sacré-Cœur sells a lot of chocolate, sweets and macaroons and I highly recommend checking it out. Unfortunately I don't remember the name but there's a huge chocolate model of Notre Dame inside and it's so impressive! Those of you visiting in the summer, I recommend you go in for the air-con too!
One thing I absolutely adore about Paris is the architecture and those balconies the buildings have. The big palaces and regal buildings are so ornate and even just walking down a street, I found myself looking up and loving the view. When we got off the metro to walk to the hotel on our first day, it wasn't until I'd seen the buildings like this, then I felt like I was in Paris!
Galleries Lafayette is a huge department store and a definite must-see if you're visiting Paris. We actually took ages to find it by walking in the wrong direction, oops! Good old McDonald's wifi soon put us right though. Go up to the roof and check out the view. There were loads of people up there when we visited, just sitting eating lunch and relaxing. In hindsight we should have taken something up with us to eat and enjoyed the view a little longer.The beauty blogger in me squealed with delight upon seeing the beauty hall. Incredible! I don't think Andrew could really see how excited I was about it until I was snapping away at the counters and rambling on about brands and products. He'd already had to put up with visiting Sephora twice before this (lucky guy).
As I did just mention, of course I visited Sephora! I came home with a few treats (and a few from the pharmacy too) so keep an eye out for a post coming soon to see what I got. I'd love to go back to Paris, it's a great city and there's absolutely loads to do. You could easily go for the weekend, see the Arc De Triomphe and Eiffel Tower and spend the rest of your time shopping before flying home! I don't think I could just visit for the day, I like to try and fit in as much as I can so I know in the future if we go back, while I will schedule in shopping time (ahem, Sephora and pharmacy visits) there'll be lots of walking too!Let me know if you'd like to see a top tips/places to visit post about my trip to Paris.
