Paris Panini – A French Affair

By Rohit Dassani

Paris Panini, is a gourmet French Panini and fast food restaurant located in 12th Main, Indiranagar, Bangalore. The place is of decent size with blue and white colors used extensively. Some portion of it has al fresco seating exactly the same as in European countries. Inside they have couple of small tables with sofa on one side and chairs all around. The walls have beautiful street style paintings. Everything is made in-house here be it the dips, the sauces or the biscuits.

We had the Le 51 a drink made by the infusion of star anise and licorice. The drink was slightly sweet and the taste was amazing. It refreshes the body and mind! Next, we tried their Classic Salted Fried and Onion rings. Both the dishes come with your choice of condiments – the list includes Homemade mustard, basil mayo, spicy mayo, garlic mayo and Gouda cheese dip. Each of these are made in house! My personal favorite was the garlic mayo, loved it with both the fries and rings.

When it comes to Panini’s we tried the Chloe and Sophie. The Chloe is made with Fresh cheese, grilled eggplant and capsicum, roasted tomatoes. The panini has pesto inside and the taste was great! The Sophie on the other hand had Tomato bechamel, olives and cucumber, fried onions and feta cheese filling. It was on the sweeter side and left an aftertaste of fried onions. Loved it! Next, we tried their Cheese Toast made with in-house fresh cheese, garlic and spring onions. The dish didn’t go well with my palate due to the taste of raw garlic and spring onions together.

When it comes to desserts no one can beat the French. The Crème Caramel is a homemade caramel cream made with salted butter and served with homemade biscuits. The caramel cream is just perfect in sweetness and just melts in the mouth. The Homemade Dark Chocolate crepe is made with thin pancake with loads of dark chocolate. But the ultimate crepe was the Salted Caramel and Biscuit crepe. It just blows your mind off. The sweetness from the caramel is cut down from the biscuit making it a treat that’s hard to beat! The Hot chocolate was also balanced.

Overall, the use of fresh ingredients and home made condiments are a plus. Some of the Panini’s and desserts are to die for.
