Story: Parallel starts when Alex (Aldis Hodge) is trying to help a grief-stricken woman Vanessa (Deadwyler). However, their time in a remote cabin leads to her witnessing herself in the forest. The two must work together to learn what happened to Martel (Edwin Hodge) and it only creates a bigger mystery.
They learn they can navigate between parallel spaces, whether they have other lives. However, they never know which version of themselves they are colliding with.
Verdict on Parallel
Parallel is a sci-fi thriller following a grief-stricken woman who discovers she can travel between universes. She works with her husband to find one which could offer a better life but ends up getting caught in a web of conspiracies about the truth of her life.
This movie is an interesting concept that has so much more potential than is shown. It ends up not diving deep enough into the moral dilemma the characters are placed in. In the end, this doesn’t seem to get going enough and isn’t brave enough to take on the more serious subjects.
Final Thoughts – Parallel is a great concept but struggles to stick to the landing.
