A red heifer, a para aduma, has arrived in Israel and has been sent to Shilo to be housed there, with a couple more on their way.
They say these heifer are fully kosher as para aduma, with no black hairs and never having born any burden or yoke.
Some are saying this is a sign of Machiach's imminent arrival. I don't know about that - we have had supposedly kosher para aduma raised in the past yet Mashiach did not come, but I guess halevai that it should happen this time.
They are going to have to keep this in a very careful environment, which must be difficult. Even if this heifer itself does not foretell the coming of Mashiach, which I guess remains to be seen, it is interesting, fascinating, to see people working to bring back, re-create, Jewish traditions of old, similar to the Tekhelet, and similar to recreating the Temple vessels, ascension to Har Habayit. It is all part of the return to the Land of Israel and the ingathering of the exiles...
