+1ShareTweetPinWhatsAppWhen I was young, we didn’t make parathas at home that often, and my idea was that it was just a thicker version of a chapathi. It was only later that I realized that there was an entire world of parathas out there! From vegetable parathas like aloo paratha, beetroot paratha, methi paratha or carrot paratha to different grains like multigrain paratha, besan paratha or missi paratha, there are so many options to choose from. Today we do something different from veggies and grains – today we try a paneer vegetable paratha recipe!
Paneer Vegetable Paratha Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/4 cup grated paneer
- whey as required to make the dough (you can use drinking water instead)
- 2 tablespoon grated carrot
- Fresh coriander leaves
- 1-2 teaspoon ghee for roasting the paratha
- Dash of black pepper powder
Method:
1. In a mixing bowl, put whole wheat flour, grated paneer, grated carrot, finely chopped coriander leaves and crushed black pepper.
2. Add in the whey, pouring in a little at a time, till you get a soft dough.
3. Knead well and keep the dough covered for 10 minutes.
4. Make small balls of the dough and roll each dough into a paratha, without making it too thin.
5. Roast the paratha on a heated skillet till both sides are golden brown.
6. Brush either side of the paratha with ghee.
7. Cut the paratha into four quarters or smaller pieces and serve right away.
You can make this paratha with just paneer, but the vegetables make it more wholesome. This paneer paratha works great as breakfast, dinner or in the lunch box, and it’s also a good option for finger foods for babies and toddlers. Just cut the paratha into pieces and let them pick it up and eat it themselves. The whey also ups the nutritional quotient of this paratha, so do try to get some!
