It’s nutritious, packed with protein and calcium, easy to cook and versatile enough for a variety of dishes. And this is also exactly why paneer is also a favorite with Moms – especially when there are picky eaters in the house! And today’s recipe is a Paneer Vegetable fried rice that’s perfect for the entire family – even 8 month old babies!
Before you give this dish to your baby, read about when you can introduce paneer to babies, and how to do it.
Paneer Vegetable Fried Rice
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup cooked rice
- 1/4 cup grated paneer / cottage cheese
- 1 teaspoon fresh coriander leaves
- 1 tablespoon grated carrot
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped french beans
- 1-2 teaspoon ghee
- Dash of black pepper powder
Method:
1. Heat a pan on medium flame and melt ghee.
2. Toss in the grated carrot and chopped french beans. Stir fry till they turn soft.
3. Add the cooked rice and mix everything together. Fry for 1 to 2 minutes.
4. Next, add the grated paneer and stir till everything is properly combined.
5. Season the rice with black pepper and turn off the flame. Garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves or spring onion greens.
6. Serve immediately.
Once your baby has been safely introduced to paneer, there is a huge variety of dishes that you can try, like pan fried paneer, fruity paneer puree, flavored paneer cubes, paneer kheer and of course, this paneer vegetable fried rice! As baby grows, you can add more vegetables to make it heartier and tastier.
