Pancreatitis, Causes, Symptoms and Herbal Treatment
Pancreatitis is inflammation in the pancreas. It is a disease in which your pancreas becomes inflamed.

The pancreas is a large gland that is present behind your stomach and next to your small intestine. The pancreas is a digestive gland that performs a range of both endocrine and exocrine functions.

The endocrine part produces several important hormones, including insulin, glucagon, somatostatin, and pancreatic polypeptide which is involved in the homeostasis of blood glucose and is also involved in the control of upper GI motility and function.

The exocrine part is responsible for the digestion of carbohydrates, proteins, and lipids. The major enzymes involved in the digestion of proteins are trypsinogen and chymotrypsinogen. Those involved in the digestion of fats are lipase and amylase.

Pancreatitis is inflammation of the pancreas. It happens when digestive enzymes start digesting their own pancreatic cells.
