I often paint more than one canvas in the same style and colors, though there are always variations in the outcome. As I completed my last painting, I worked on the background of this new one, painting it the same dull turquoise.
I drew short lines placed close together to begin forming patterns using parchment, white, black, cobalt green, unbleached titanium, raw sienna, brilliant blue, and burnt umber. I let the patterns float across the canvas, in the suggestion of a landscape.
