Most Americans are no longer accepting the government lies about marijuana being a dangerous drug. They know it is not addictive and cannot cause a death by overdose (unlike many legal drugs can). They also see that legalization is working well in the states that have adopted it, and that those states are reaping a windfall in taxes from marijuana sales. And over 6 in 10 Americans (61%) now think marijuana should be legalized nationwide.
Charts are from a new Quinnipiac University Poll -- done between July 27th and August 1st of a random national sample of 1,125 voters, with a 3.4 point margin of error.
