Jasmine Monsegue, also known as the artist Spacebrat, distributed her first free NFT dubbed “Gleam” via an open-edition mint. She was pleasantly surprised by how many more people wanted it than she had anticipated.

However, the mint had only been open for 48 hours. Thanks to a mechanism called Holograph, fans were able to mint the NFT more than 300,000 times across various chains. On Polygon, users tended to claim their tokens.
The CXIP Labs company created the protocol. According to the protocol’s website, it applies a multi-chain technique to artwork and digital valuables, producing assets “that exist as single instances across multiple execution environments.”
Users can then link the NFTs—individual digital tokens that demonstrate ownership of something, typically digital art—across many chains. Right now, it supports Ethereum, Avalanche, BNB Chain, and Polygon.
Monsegue’s work has been featured in Vogue and Hypebeast. The artwork that appears on the NFT coin, “Gleam,” was on display at WHAAM! in New York as a part of her solo exhibition, “Pipe Dream.”
As mentioned in a news release from Holograph, the artist has also completed pieces for Drake and murals for Virgil Abloh’s brand OFF WHITE. Her work with Holograph marks her entry into the Web3 sector.
Currently, OpenSea and other secondary marketplaces offer the NFT, but each chain has its own website, whether it be for Polygon or “Gleam” versions based on Ethereum.
On Holograph’s website, where customers could choose which chain to mint their collection on, it was first made available for free for two days. However, they were still required to pay transaction expenses, sometimes known as “gas fees.”
Based on a query from Dune, a spokesperson for Holograph informed Decrypt that of the 301,798 times “Gleam” was made, the NFT was produced roughly 203,000 times on Polygon, the Ethereum scaling solution.
That was significantly more than the approximate 53,000 and 46,000 “Gleam” coins produced on Avalanche or BNB Chain, respectively. Only 82 of the collectibles were produced on Ethereum.
In answer to a distinct Dune inquiry, the official stated that approximately 164,000 various wallets participated in the open-edition mint. At least 50 other wallets “minted” “Gleam” more than 100 times, while one wallet “minted” “Gleam” a total of 1,241 times.
The first collaboration between Holograph and a third party, which was also an open edition mint, featured Dan Witz’s “Mosh Pit 2000” in April. The mint was purchased 444 times for $45 total. On the other hand, Spacebrat’s “Gleam” received a lot more notice.
