Outtake: Surfer Edition

By Gail Aguiar @ImageLegacy

Praia de Matosinhos

Whenever I shoot on Matosinhos Beach, surfers end up in the frame whether I photograph it that way on purpose or not. Case in point. But it’s definitely not a complaint! If I were more comfortable being in the wild ocean, I’d be out there doing surf photography. I love shooting sport. As it stands, I’m as close to the action as I’ll get with a camera and I’m pleased when I can photograph surfers larger than heads bobbing in the waves.

I was at Matosinhos to shoot my contribution towards a medium-to-large scale collaborative art project headed by Paulo’s cousin, which I will be speaking more about as it grows and takes shape. This was an outtake (processed two different ways), which I won’t be using for the project but I wanted to show it, anyway.

It’s just one of several editing projects in the pipeline, a pipeline that’s going to burst unless I spend more time in front of the computer to deal with it. The weather has just been so fantastic lately, who can blame me for playing hooky?
