Outdoor Advertising Goes to the Birds

Posted on the 02 September 2011 by Thehangline

Visual metaphors are a powerful device in advertising. Live-action metaphors are even better. Such is the case in this example from Grey Indonesia for Panadol Extra where birds peck away at some poor sap’s massive cranium. That’s one billboard that’s hard to forget. This gets to the heart of the matter. Outdoor advertising should be an event, something people want to see, something they’ll share on the inter-web-ernets. It’s the true medium of the people! Er… excuse me, I guess in this case, the medium of the people has gone to the birds.
