Outdoor Adventure at Harvey Dam, Western Australia

By Sillymummy @silly_mummy

For Father’s Day we spent most of the day at Harvey Dam for a BBQ. It’s located a little over 140km south of Perth.  It’s a beautiful area designed to be enjoyed by the young and the old, with or without children. You can take your boat there and try catch a fish or two.

We hiked up to the top of the wall so that we could take in the wonderful view from up there. Here are some photos. I didn’t get the chance to take a photo of the amphitheater but you can check out the links further below for more information if you wish to visit the dam. It’s very clean and well kept. Plus, the toilets were nice and neat – the bonus was they had toilet paper!

The only two things I didn’t like:  there was no hand-wash in the toilets and I couldn’t see a telephone for emergency. The reception for mobile phone is terrible up there, so what do you do in an emergency if your mobile isn’t picking up anything at all or you don’t have a mobile? Maybe there’s a phone somewhere and maybe it was in a spot on the other side of the park. But still there should be one in plain view. If I didn’t see one then it’s bad emergency management especially in an area full of trees and so far from the main road. At least there should be one in the toilet area.

Anyway, enjoy the photos.
