In light of hurricane Sandy hitting NYC badly last week, I had second thoughts about continuing my blogs on NYC, as it's been heart wrenching to see such a beautiful city hit with disaster. I know it's going to be hard rebuilding the city, but the people there are amazing and have already pulled together to help one another, so please know we are all thinking about you. I still want to celebrate all that's wonderful about New York City from my recent holiday.
Thinking positively has so much power, so over the next few weeks I'll also be reviewing some of the designers I met at 'Artists and Fleas' - a boutique jewelry market in Brooklyn. It was a good find, although my bank account would beg to differ. The thing I liked about it was the small and intimate space where you got to meet local artists who produce unique designs. The vibe was very similar to Bricklane in East London with it's contemporary, original and hip little stores that had a vintage vibe. Because I'm like a magpie that likes to collect things to bring back to my nest, my first purchase was this beautiful Flying Fox Squirrel necklace by FSMNYC Jewellry (Formerly know as FancySexyMe). It's so me and shiny…
