Who watched the entire VMAs to see the Divergent trailer? We did… only to see that it was actually during the pre-show. Don’t fret! We are here to give you our opinions (which we know you’re begging for) and have the opinions of both fans of the book and someone who hasn’t read the books yet, so it’s well-rounded.

Justine (who read Divergent and Insurgent first and the showed Amanda): I don’t know. I feel like they didn’t explain it enough so I hope that the rest of their ad campaigns give in more details. It didn’t feel as epic as The Hunger Games. I think that people not fans of the book won’t be excited.
Chad (who hasn’t read the books…yet): Kate Winselt is in it. So thats cool. The graphics and setting looking awesome. I have very little knowledge on what the story is about or what is happening at all in the trailer because it was loud where I watched it and there were many loud humans near me. It looks like Hunger Games with less child death. I’m in.
Amanda (who read the books after Justine recommended them): I LOVE seeing Kate Winslet as a villain! I guess I don’t know her filmography well enough but has that ever happened? Shailene Woody is beautiful and I am especially excited to see her chemistry with Tobias/Four… who looks GORGEOUS!
