By Attireclub @attireclub

Reading a lot of forums and style blogs, you often find men wondering where they can get great ties. Most of the times, a few big sites are get placed around for people to go search their ties. But, we think that there’s more to the tie world than that.

We’ve mentioned on our site some brands we love and think men should definitely check out if they want original and unique ties. Such a brand is Pattern of Society. The Germany-based shop features selected ties for all tastes and preferences.

What’s interesting about them is that when you are browsing through their website and looking at a tie, you don’t only find information on the tie, but also a matching pocket square. Now that’s a concept.

We thought to put together a little breakdown of what kind of tie would be perfect for yourself. We want to have a look at the types of ties Pattern of Society creates and analyze the different messages different ties send out.

Solid color ties

Men who wear solid colored ties are guys who project a very clean, precise image. Solid color ties are perfect for business, meetings, contract signings, negotiations and so much more.

But that’s not all that solid-color ties are about. Given the fact that you are wearing a single-color tie, the color of the tie is very important: pink is associated with innocence and purity, while dark ties are formal and business.

Solid-color ties are perceived as safe and elegant.

Make sure that the color you are wearing represents you and that it flatters your traits.

Striped ties

The

The “Luke”, a striped tie sending out a classic vibe.

You might not have known this, but originally, striped ties were an indicator of where a man had went to school in Britain. Now that’s not the case anymore, so the stripes you can choose are of a lot wider variety.

Striped ties, even though considered conservative by some , are basically just in the middle between solid-color ties and patterned ties in terms of message and conservatism.

They do say that you have an edge to yourself, but how edgy you are is given by the type of stripes you wear: Equal stripes are more conservative while alternating stripes of different thicknesses suggest are more fun and relaxed guy.

Someone wearing stripes of the same color but in different nuances is really subtle and safe, while stripes that contrast with each other are definitely a statement that the person wearing them wishes to stand out in a good way.

Patterned ties

There are so many patterns out there, that there’s something for everyone! Dots, small drawings, squares and so on are some of the most common ones. Ties such as the one portrayed here are definitely sending out a message saying the the wearer is a creative person. Also, some men like to communicate that they have a sense of humor about themselves by wearing really funky ties.

Given that the range of patterns is so wide, patterned ties or pocket squares are all about individuality and originality!

We do realize that certain occasions require certain types of ties. A tie worn when you are signing a contract should be different from the tie you are wearing when you are having fun in a bar. This is why it’s important to have a variety of ties in your closet.

You might wonder why there are ties in different widths. Well, that’s easy: slimmer men go best with slimmer ties, while bigger men should definitely wear larger ties. It’s that easy, and the impact is visible for sure!

Match your tie to the rest of your outfit and to your pocket square (if the occasion requires it) and you’re a man ready to go!
