We have been looking at our own individual favorite role from the star above, we would like to hear from you about which is your favorite role. Lewis choice by the nature of his martial arts background, JCVD roles often lacked the multi-faceted characterisation in favour of gripping action. Picking a favorite role is difficult, but since the early 00’s, we have seen far greater, more emotive performances.

Lewis’ Pick

Ben Archer – Wake Of Death (2004)

wake of dead
Van Damme plays retired gangster Ben Archer, who after providing shelter to a Chinese immigrant child is drawn back into the criminal world following a shootout with misinformed triads. Very much more drama than action, and combined with the poignant soundtrack, a powerful emotional connection is made with the action star.
