Lewis choice by the nature of his martial arts background, JCVD roles often lacked the multi-faceted characterisation in favour of gripping action. Picking a favorite role is difficult, but since the early 00’s, we have seen far greater, more emotive performances.

Very much more drama than action, and combined with the poignant soundtrack, a powerful emotional connection is made with the action star.
