Verdict: Not So Good
Story: Ouija Shark starts as five friends Donna (Roman), Jen (Towne), Tiffany (Osborne), Kim (Hodge) and Jill (Goodwin) head for weekend away for drink and a pool party, where Jill finds a Ouija Board while on the beach, that the girls look to use for fun.
After the board is played, a spirit shark comes to life and starts picking off strangers and the group around the area, with a race against time to stop it before it kills too many.
Thoughts on Ouija Shark
Final Thoughts – Ouija Shark is from the same company that bought us The Velocipastor, which was an enjoyable ‘bad’ entertaining movie, it understood how to make fun of itself, with how ludicrous the story was. Here we get yet another shark movie that fails to capture the magic many movies have with a ludicrous concept, see Sharknado for the best example. We are left with a tiny event, which caused a spirit shark, which lurks people, we lack the blood that could have a lot of fun with the idea, we lack the fact that we could just have a fun over the top idea, we are left with disposable characters and an idea which just doesn’t click into place. The effects are meant to look low budget, while sometimes low budget effects improve certain movies, this time, it just doesn’t improve anything. I do think you could have a lot of fun watching drunk though, but this is not a sober movie.
