Northern art: Artist Robbie Craig visits Ottawa to showcase Canadian inspired art
Canadian artist Robbie Craig is bringing some much-needed northern inspiration to the chill out this Ottawa heatwave! Robbie Craig's Northern Projects will host an art show on Saturday, August 21st from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Sunday, August 22nd from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Craig is based in the Northwest Territories so it's always exciting when his art is showcased in the nation's capital. His wildlife and landscape artwork has a very distinct Canadian style, bringing to life indigenous animals and capturing real locations and natural wonders like the northern lights.
I first discovered his nature-inspired creations on Facebook a few years ago and instantly fell in love with his esthetic. Craig's artwork is "inspired by the untouched and rugged landscape of Canada’s north and captures the essence of Canada's beauty in his own unique style." His artwork is a celebration of the Canadian wilderness. His use of line and color is what sets his art apart.
The art show will have many of his works on display, including prints, canvases, and some originals. He also imposes his art onto all kinds of other creations like scarfs, facemasks, Christmas ornaments, calendars, puzzles, and dish towels like the ones I reviewed last year. There's no cost to attend the show.
Find out more information about Robbie Craig's show on the Facebook event page and don't forget to invite your friend and family! The show will take place at the Ottawa East Holiday Inn at 1199 Joseph Cyr Street on Saturday, August 21st from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Sunday, August 22nd from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. COVID-19 precautions will be in place to keep everyone safe. Attendees will receive a small gift.
