Note: I’m not hating one bit, just stating the facts. When you dress up like My Little Pony or in full Robot gear and carry around a 10 foot fake sword, you’ve got to be a little off. Are you wrong, no chance, but I’m just saying you’re a freak. Which in my mind can be used in positive situations all the time. Like, “that chick right there; she’s a freak.” I digress.
We’ve already seen what BronyCon brings to the table, and this weekend Baltimore will be infused with a fresh group of costumes, personalities and excitement. From the website: Otakon is the convention of the otaku generation: by fans, for fans; and we’ll be back for our 20th Otakon onAugust 9-11, 2013. Ever since 1999, we’ve taken over a sizable chunk of Baltimore’s Inner Harbor for a 3-day festival celebrating the pop culture that’s brought us everything from Astroboy to Yu-Gi-Oh, from Seven Samurai to Spirited Away.
So there you have it. More costumes, more swords and more fun. If you’re anywhere near the Convention Center this weekend and have the chance to talk and take pictures with the fans of Otakon, please send them my way. Love documenting the ridiculousness of these events.
